The Rosewood Idella Carrier Foundation will celebrate it's 20-year anniversary in 2016. RICF was founded in 1998 in Washington, DC by Dexton and Harriet Frost. The Non-profit and Education Foundation was named in honor of Idella Carrier of Rosewood, Florida. She was the great grandmother of the Frost family. After fleeing the atrocities which occurred at Rosewood in 1923, she moved and settled in Tampa, Florida. She was a part of the Mecca of Rosewood, being that she owned 30 acres of land in Rosewood. Her parents were Isaac and Lydia Carrier, the first African American settlers of Rosewood, Florida. Her last known address before her death in 1933 was 703 Tyler Street. She also lived and work in the Central Avenue Section of Tampa.
